What folks are saying about Amanda

Look, feel, perform better.

Amanda is a great example of someone who achieved her goal to look, feel, and perform better (Just watch her do 27 chin-ups sometime). I aspire to that same goal (well, maybe not the 27 chin-ups). I lost 1 ½ inches of butter belly (I look better). My energy level is significantly increased (I feel better). My stamina is higher – I am stronger and can maintain exertion longer (I perform better).  Would I take another program from Amanda? YOU BETCHA!

I feel excited …

I feel better, I think I look a little better, and … here’s the big one … I feel like I’m confident enough to do some of this on my own. The gym has never been my arena. I feel excited about my increased ability to do. I hope you are able to do this for many, many people because you do it very, very well.

Confident & Passionate

I began a 6 week program with Amanda 8 weeks after giving birth to my son. She was patient (because I had no abs left) and challenged me to push myself.

The work outs were short and intense, which was perfect for a new mom (or anyone with a busy lifestyle for that matter).

Amanda is easy to understand and will take the time to make sure that you are doing the exercise correctly. She is confident and passionate, which makes her fun to work out with and be around. I would highly recommend Amanda as a trainer!

Movement is a magic pill.

Joyful movement, taken in the right dose, is unmatched—it makes everything better.

Fitness is non-negotiable.

As John Adams put it, ‘Move or die is the language of our Maker in the constitution of our bodies.’ A life full of movement isn’t optional—it’s essential – and can only be put to the side without devastating consequences for so long.

Don’t take the escalator to the gym.

Movement is not meant to be compartmentalized. The body requires high-doses of movement, and when a proper relationship to movement is restored you will organically seek to incorporate movement into everything.

Train for usefulness, not [just] vanity.

Socrates was right—it’s a shame to grow old without knowing the strength and beauty your body is capable of. But Aristotle reminds us that any virtue can become a vice. Obsessing over appearance is a trap; but showing up strong, capable, and respectable elevates the world. Form follows function—prioritize being physically well-rounded, capable, and fast. Let aesthetics be the byproduct, not the [only] goal.

Movement is inherently joyful.

If it’s not, something is broken and needs healing. Watch a child on a playground—they don’t need to be incentivized to run, jump, or climb; you couldn’t stop them if you tried. That innate love for movement is your natural state. If it’s missing, it can be restored.

But it’s not all fun & games.

Though inherently joyful, movement is not just fun & games. To fully enjoy and care for the body you still need to “floss your teeth” by incorporating less-fun movements and routines that address your weaknesses.

This will require body, mind, & spirit.

Healthy movement requires integration of body, mind and spirit. Improving the capacity of the body is a gateway to improving your capacity in all dimensions of your life. Similarly, a proper posture and mindset toward movement may be required to bring healing and strengthening in the body.

Attention & Appreciation.

Finding joy in movement starts with paying attention and showing appreciation. Pay attention—really notice what your body is doing and, more importantly, what it’s doing for you. Appreciate it. Not in some vague, abstract way, but in the raw, undeniable reality of what you’d lose if it were taken from you.

Just like exposure therapy rewires the brain to embrace discomfort, training yourself to appreciate these sensations transforms struggle into strength.
